The Emaús o Fermento group lives by the sharing of personal testimony. Some of that testimony is the voice and the name of the person offering it, and that is personal data. This page explains plainly what is collected, what it is for, who it reaches and how it can be withdrawn.

1. Data handled

a) Participants' contributions

• The name, or first name, under which a reflection is signed.
• The text of written notes.
• Audio recordings of the participant's own voice, where sent.
• An email address or telephone number, if that is the channel through which the contribution arrives.

b) Browsing data

• The choice made in the cookie banner, kept solely on the visitor's device.
• Technical logs created by the hosting provider — IP address, date and time, page requested — needed to run and secure the site.

The site has no collection forms, asks for no registration and installs no tracking tools. The technical detail is in the cookie policy.

2. Purposes and legal basis

• Publishing testimonies on the site and sharing them within the Fermento group and the wider circle Peregrino em Reflexão — on the basis of the sender's consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). Sending a contribution to be shared counts as consent, and that consent may be withdrawn at any time.
• Ordering and synthesising the reflections in a shared repository of the group, so that collective messages may come of them — same legal basis.
• Running and securing the site — the group's legitimate interest in keeping the service available and protected (Article 6(1)(f)).

A reflection on the Gospel may reveal religious beliefs, a category of data given stronger protection. The handling rests on the participant having manifestly made those data public by sharing them within the group, and on their explicit consent to publication (Article 9(2)(a) and (e)).

3. Voice recordings

A voice identifies the person speaking. A recording is therefore published on the site only with its author's agreement, and anyone who would rather share only within the group should say so when sending it. You may at any time ask for a recording to be taken off the site and out of the group's repository.

4. Participation of minors

Contributions from anyone under 16 are published only with the agreement of whoever holds parental responsibility. Where there is doubt, the contribution is not published.

5. Who has access

• Members of the Fermento group and, where a contribution is passed on, those of the Peregrino em Reflexão circle.
• Any visitor to the site, in the case of texts and recordings published here.
• The hosting provider, as a technical processor, strictly as needed to serve the pages.

Data are never sold, rented or handed to third parties for commercial or advertising purposes, or for training computer systems.

6. Retention

Testimonies remain available for as long as the group keeps the site and the repository, since they are meant to form the memory of a shared journey. They are deleted when their author asks, or when the group judges they no longer serve. The hosting provider's technical logs are kept for short periods set by that provider.

7. Your rights

As a data subject you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, portability and objection; and you may withdraw consent, without affecting what was done before. Write to the contact given at the top of this page and the group will answer as promptly as it can.

If you believe your data are not being handled as they should be, you may lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority. In Portugal this is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (www.cnpd.pt).

8. Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS) and the content published here is only what is meant to be public. The group's working repository is restricted to its members.

9. Changes

This policy may be revised whenever the site gains new features — video gatherings or a members' area, for instance. The date at the top shows the most recent revision.
